Plumbing and water services

Qualified plumbers covering all London boroughs, Kent and Essex, including Dartford, Bexley, Bromley, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Thurrock and Brentwood.

From a dripping tap to a full bathroom, a mains upgrade or a water treatment system, New Form Plumbing Ltd handles the water side of your property as carefully as the heating. We work in houses, flats, offices and commercial premises across London and Kent, and we turn up when we say we will.

What we do with water and plumbing

Leaks, repairs and emergencies

Burst pipes, weeping joints, failing stop valves and leaks you can hear but cannot find. We carry thermal imaging equipment so hidden leaks under floors and behind walls can usually be pinpointed before anything is lifted, which keeps the repair small.

Bathrooms, kitchens and appliances

Taps, showers, baths, basins, toilets, macerators, outside taps, washing machines and dishwashers, installed properly and tested. If you are refitting a bathroom or kitchen we can handle the first fix and second fix around your other trades.

Water pressure, mains upgrades and treatment

Poor pressure is usually a tired stop valve, an undersized supply or scale in the pipework, not something you have to live with. We test the flow and pressure, upgrade the incoming main where it is worthwhile, and fit pumps, filters, water softeners and scale protection where they are the right answer.

Frequently asked questions

I have a leak right now. What should I do first?

Turn off the stop valve, which is usually under the kitchen sink or where the main enters the property, and open the taps to drain the pipes down. Then call us. If you do not know where your stop valve is, find it today rather than on the night you need it.

Can you find a leak without pulling up my floor?

In most cases, yes. A leak changes the surface temperature above it, so our thermal imaging camera lets us trace the pipe and pinpoint the fault before anything is lifted. That usually turns a whole floor into one small opening and one small repair.

Why is my water pressure so poor?

Common causes are a partly closed or corroded stop valve, an undersized incoming supply, scale inside old pipework, or a shared supply in a block of flats. We measure the static pressure and the flow rate to find out which it is, rather than fitting a pump to mask the problem.

Do you fit water softeners and filters?

Yes. London and north Kent are hard water areas, and scale shortens the life of boilers, cylinders, showers and appliances. We fit softeners, scale reducers and drinking water filters, and we will tell you plainly whether the water in your street justifies one.

Can you install a full bathroom?

Yes. We carry out the plumbing first fix and second fix, install the sanitaryware, showers and valves, and coordinate with your tiler and electrician. If you want one team to handle the whole room, tell us at the survey and we will organise it.

Can you install an outside tap or a garden supply?

Yes. The water regulations require backflow protection so garden water can never be drawn back into your drinking supply, and the device has to match the level of risk. On a standard garden tap we fit a double check valve, which is a step some installers skip. Where the risk is higher, for example a hose that could sit in a pond or an animal trough, the rules call for stronger protection, and we will tell you at the survey if that applies to you. We can also run supplies to garden rooms, garages and outbuildings.

Do you handle drains and blockages?

We deal with waste pipework, traps, macerators and the internal side of the system. For a blocked main drain outside the property we will tell you honestly if a drainage specialist is the better call, rather than charging you for a visit that will not fix it.

Do you work on commercial buildings?

Yes, and a large part of our work is commercial. We hold the accreditations needed to design, install and certify commercial heating, hot water and gas plant, and we have completed projects in schools and churches as well as offices, restaurants, care homes, hospitals, apartment blocks and multi occupancy buildings. We are used to working in occupied buildings and will plan the work around term times, services and opening hours.
