Reduced Energy Costs & Environmental Impact
Lower your bills while reducing your carbon footprint.
Heat pumps are highly efficient, extracting heat from the air to provide both heating and hot water for your property. This results in significantly reduced energy costs compared to traditional gas systems, while dramatically lowering your environmental impact. As a reliable long-term alternative to gas systems, heat pumps offer consistent performance and lower maintenance requirements.

Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an air source heat pump cost to install?
Every heat pump installation is priced on the property, not from a price list. What you pay depends on the heat loss of your home, the size of unit needed, the radiators or underfloor circuits already in place, cylinder space and the pipework involved. The £7,500 government grant comes straight off your quote before you pay anything, so you never fund it yourself and claim it back. A heat pump is also built for a long service life, longer than a gas boiler, provided it is serviced every year. We survey your home free of charge and give you a fixed price with no surprises.
Am I eligible for the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant?
Almost certainly yes. You qualify if you own the property in England or Wales and the heat pump replaces a fossil fuel system such as gas, oil, LPG or electric. The old requirement for an EPC without outstanding insulation recommendations has been removed, so poor insulation no longer blocks the grant. As MCS certified installers we handle the whole application and take the £7,500 straight off your quote, so you never pay it out and claim it back. There is no income limit and no cap on property value.
Will a heat pump keep my house warm in winter?
Yes, comfortably. Heat pumps are the standard way homes are heated across Scandinavia, where winters are far colder than ours. Modern units are designed to keep heating well below freezing, and every system we quote is designed against the coldest local design temperature for your area, not an average, so it still holds temperature on the worst night of the year. We size every system from a room-by-room heat loss survey of your own property, so it is designed for the coldest day of the year. Most customers tell us the house feels more comfortable than with a gas boiler, because the heat is steady and even all day rather than blasting hot then going cold.
Do I need new radiators or underfloor heating?
Usually your existing radiators are fine, and we tell you exactly where you stand before you commit. Because a heat pump runs at a gentler flow temperature, one or two radiators in the coldest rooms may need to be a size larger. We measure every room during the free survey and include any changes in the fixed price. Underfloor heating pairs beautifully with a heat pump, but it is not required.
How long does the installation take?
Most installations are finished in 2 to 4 days, and larger homes needing a new cylinder or radiator changes take up to a week. We agree the dates with you beforehand, leave the heating and hot water working each evening wherever possible, and tidy up as we go. You are left with a fully commissioned system, all certificates issued, and a walk-through of the controls.
How noisy is a heat pump, and do I need planning permission?
Modern heat pumps run quietly, and the noise is not left to chance. Every installation has to pass the MCS Planning Standards (MCS 020a) noise assessment, which we carry out at the survey so we know before we start exactly where the unit can go. Most installations in England are permitted development, so no planning application is needed, provided that assessment passes and the other conditions are met, including the size of the outdoor unit, where it is sited, and the extra restrictions that apply to flats, listed buildings, conservation areas and World Heritage Sites. We check the rules for your property and handle the paperwork.
What maintenance and warranty do I get?
Maintenance is simple: one annual service, which we carry out for you, with no gas safety check and no flue to worry about. The manufacturer warranty depends on the unit we install and is kept valid by servicing it annually. We tell you exactly what the warranty covers before you commit, register it for you, and back it with our own workmanship guarantee. Because we are MCS certified and RECC registered you also have an independent route of redress: customers of RECC members can take a dispute to Green Homes Dispute Resolution, a free and independent service, so you are never relying on our goodwill alone. Your installation is registered with MCS and the paperwork lands in your inbox.
Which areas do you cover?
We install and service air source heat pumps across all of London, Kent and Essex. That includes every London borough, and Dartford, Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone and the surrounding villages. If you are not sure whether we reach you, call 07808 899464 and ask.
How much can I save compared with a gas boiler?
A heat pump moves existing heat rather than burning fuel, so it delivers several times more heat than the electricity it uses. A boiler can never pass 100%, because it is burning its fuel to make the heat. As a benchmark, the government will not fund a heat pump under the Boiler Upgrade Scheme unless it reaches a seasonal efficiency (SCOP) of at least 2.8, which is 280%, and a well designed system on a modern unit does better than that. Against oil, LPG or electric heating the savings are substantial and immediate. Against mains gas, most homes save most on a heat pump electricity tariff, where the cheaper unit rate makes a clear difference to the annual bill. You also avoid the gas standing charge if you leave the gas grid altogether, and you protect yourself from future gas price rises as the UK moves off fossil fuels. We show you the figures for your own usage during the survey.
Do you work on commercial buildings?
Yes, and a large part of our work is commercial. We hold the accreditations needed to design, install and certify commercial heating, hot water and gas plant, and we have completed projects in schools and churches as well as offices, restaurants, care homes, hospitals, apartment blocks and multi occupancy buildings. We are used to working in occupied buildings and will plan the work around term times, services and opening hours.
